Exciting, noisy, busy, full-on - it felt a bit intimidating to begin with but persevere and it's fine. Locals are friendly, prices a bit suspect as there's rarely a price label on anything, architecture and cultural attractions amazing. Much of the walled city is walkable but expect to get lost in the labyrinth! We visited Marrakesh just before the school holidays and there was a music festival in the square by the medina. There was so many people and so much going on - it was a fantastic experience. We went from Marrakesh to Ouarzazate, which was a very different experience.Megan - 10Scored 10

I found the people warm and friendly. i expected a more persistent sales pitch. i felt everywhere i travelled in the city was safe. i would have liked to have had more exposure to history in the museums as i felt they focused a great deal on art. The gardens and hammams were exceptional.

We have been to Marrakesh many times and even lived there for an extended period of time. Rich in culture & experiences. From the minute you get off the plane, you can smell the city...spices! Cool breezes in the evenings, music...food. The Moroccan people are kind and welcoming (they can also be overwhelming in the Souks but that is part of the adventure). Moroccans have an excellent work ethic and their service level is amazing! A truly beautiful window into a completely different culture. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Getting around Marrakesh is quite easy, although make sure you know the average to pay or you will easily get ripped off. Be wary of people who offer to help take you somewhere or show you where something is... they will almost always expect you to give them money. This is the most frustrating part of being in Marrakesh. We still fall for it at least once every time we are there :) The city has had quite a transformation over the last 12-15 years. They painted Marrakesh & it looks EPIC! Such a great improvement. They have also introduced ICED MOROCCAN TEA and it is a game-changer.

What an amazing historic and beautiful city!
What an amazing historic and beautiful city! I very much enjoyed the souk, the historic architecture and fashionable eateries and galleries. The disappointment was that it is very difficult to know in advance whether a restaurant serves alcohol. This is a minor issue but there were some meals we wanted to have some wine with, and ended up not being able to. People are generally extremely friendly and the souk was not intimidating at all.

They always take the time to answer questions, provide lots of great suggestions and really care that their guests have a great experience in Marrakesh.
