The Undiscovered Asian Capital
Capital of the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan), huge Taipei is surrounded by mountains. Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building, dominates its skyline from Xinyi, an area known for the most active nightlife.
At Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall the national flag is raised every morning and the guard changed every hour. Less known for tourists is National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, containing a tall bronze statue of the country’s founding father.
Of the wealth of Taipei museums, the best are Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines and the National Palace Museum – one of world’s largest collections of Chinese artifacts. Even more numerous are the temples dedicated to Buddhist, Taoist and Chinese folk religions. Xinsheng South Road is nicknamed ‘Road to Heaven’ for its sheer number, but most famous is Longshan Temple in Wanhua, the oldest district.
Taipei shopping is fantastic and includes Core Pacific Living Mall, supposedly Asia’s largest. The Ximending area has lots of shops (and karaoke), while the Shilin Night Market should not be missed. For a break from the bustle head to central Daan Forest Park, the botanical gardens with its lotus ponds,or Yangmingshan National Park, known for hot spring baths and spring cherry blossom.
Whether you fly into Songshan or Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, efficient public transport takes you to the Taipei hotels on Booking.com.

Stayed 8 nights in Taipei did not travel out due to the earthquake situation. Taipei's Night Markets are over rated. I have been to 6 different Night Market they practically sell the same kind of food and not necessary as tasty as some of the You Tubers would like you to believed. There are better tasting stores than others but nothing really to scream about. But I loved their Pineapple super sweet eat it everyday . It is fairly easy to travel around the city in public transport.. I have been to Yehliu, Houtong, Yangmingshan National Park.,Jiufen ,Shifen Waterfall and Pingxi Sky Lantern. Fisherman Wharf and Keelung for seafood. Really wanted to experience Taiwan's unique Night Market Culture but was very disappointed.

MRT and high-speed railway are very developed in this city. The cost is cheap and you can go to almost every destination.
People are friendly and willing to help.
City roads and stations are cleaned.
Only food, perhaps it's not suitable for someone like the healthy style because a majority of them are oily.

Several times during my short stay people went well out of their way to help me. One on occasion, an older lady who was getting her hair done in the salon where I got a hair cut left her chair walked me down the steps of the shop and out into the street and about 20 yards to an intersection to ensure I did not get lost and found my destination. Taipei Taiwanese during the days I spent there seemed to be a fine people, their city clean and safer than many US large cities. I don't think they will like mainland China coming in and taking over. I visited a couple of great temples and had great suppers.

The transportation and hotel bookings are excellent, and the food is reasonably cheap. Taiwan is generally clean but some areas have a sewer smell problem due to an old system. People are friendly and helpful. Nobody rejects you if you ask for the road direction. Taipei is modern, but smaller villages are old. The scooters pile up full on the pedestrian walk, and we have no way to walk around. By all means, it is a beautiful place to visit.
If you want to get here from the airport, if you are transferring to a flight the next day like we did, get the 48 hour metro pass and get the MRT to Taipei Main, transfer to the Bannan Line and go 2 stops to Zhongxiao Xinsheng, leave exit 4, turn right and walk up the road to the right, turn right and walk past the garden and then walk along until you get to the crossing with the petrol station.
Nice hotel with comfy beds and a lot of space in the room which we appreciated after our flight from London.
Its clean, simple, honestly I ddnt expect this good compare to its price.
Its pretty budget friendly for couple looking for a place to spend in weekend in the big city
No smoking oddor like the hotel weve been before with the same price.
What i love the most is the view from the park ,makes me feel home
Staff are approchable plus, extend fee is also a good deal for like us, lazy worm in cold weekend ..(check out is at 11am and you still wanna wrap yourself on the bed)
The location is great, near ximen station & quite a walk to taipei main station, there's a bus stop near hotel too. The bed is really thick you can sleep well on it. There's staff til 12mid if you'll checkin late. There's a lot of food & cafes around the hostel. a lot of toilet & shower room is separate, though the toilet is outside but manageable. The common area is also good spot to chill. I like that the staff will show you around for their amenities.
Yusense Hotel is right place to stay if you want to spend a few days away from overbusy Taipei downtown, this hotel is just in 15 min away from 101 by taxi and 25 min away from Shilin MRT by walking. Near by you can find an amazing parks, I strongly recommend to went both of them. During our long honeymoon holidays we've stayed there twice, everything was absolutely good, extremely friendly stuff helped to fix a small issues we faced.
Wonderful hotel located in the Ximen district. The room was very clean and comfortable, and also very quiet. The toilet had bidet attachment. The included breakfast was very tasty, and the staff are all very friendly. The hotel is located about 5min walk to the Ximen MRT station, and very close to lots of great sites and foods. Highly recommend staying here if visiting Taipei.
The hotel room is across Daan forest park with the window view is the best experience to have during our stay and its location is excellent at the heart of Taipei city, which connects to most of the places within 25 minutes of distance.
The room's cleanliness and facility are above our expectations. The staff is very courteous and helpful.
The pillows and duvet were good. Loved the pillow mist and bought a few home as gifts. The room is not large but luxurious. Layout of the room is good. Extremely comfortable bed. I overslept. Breakfast is excellent, the choices exceeded my expectations. My hotel of choice when I next visit Taipei
very friendly service, strategic location, close to the MRT station, close to parks, night markets, the rooms are nice, spacious, the facilities are complete, the bathroom is super clean, just so one of the hotel choices when on holiday to Taipei highly recommended, trust me
Very comfortable hotel, ideally located near Daan Park, perfect to visit Taipéi. The room, bed and bathroom (with hot tub) were very comfortable. A special mention to the kindness and flexibility of all the team.
We chose this hotel because it's close to a park and conveniently located with the subway and night markets. Quiet location but the busy part of town is close. A big room with a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub.
Good location. You can walk from Taipei Main station to this hotel within 15 minutes. It is also convenient to go to Taipei zoo by Roosevelt line bus at the bus stop near the hotel by 5-minute walking.
You don't want to miss this 5-star hotel with rich history when you visit Taipei. Don't forget to book in advance for the guided tour of the secret path of The Grand Hotel. Very impressive!
We like the location of the hotel near NTU Hospital MRT Station, surrounding the garden.
Free meal in the lobby, good staff with good english. Clean room with window viewing the city.
all you need to know : great hotel, nice staff, Chinese/Asian fast food for breakfast which suited us well, comfy bed, close to Taipei main Station, tiny room but enough for few days
Location is very good. The entrance of the hotel is grand and luxurious. Facilities are top notch with access to swimming pool, multiple restaurants and a small shopping area.
Big windows 😊
Quiet and calm location with breakfast shops nearby. Near garden.
I like the scallion roti with ham and egg from the cart nearby the hotel.😊
